What is it about?



Grade 11 Art is all about using unique techniques to create eye catching visuals. In the first unit, we are focusing on Figure drawing to convey art as expression. It will concentrate on the process of abstraction in drawing or painting. We will learn how to use body language to express emotions and feelings. This will be done by using mixed media and particularly using expressive lines. Unit 2 consists of the analysis of how artists create art to convey a meaning to the world through the use of symbols, and literary devices. Concepts such as propaganda and heroism will be reviewed. This is probably my favorite unit because we will explore print making technique and use it in our artwork. Unit 3 is all about me: persona and identity. We will be making masks, on our type of culture and beliefs to create strong expressions about our identity. Finally Unit 4 is the final task of Grade 11 Art where we create our own Triptychs, based on our culture and identity.
