Art Portfolio

This is a superhero cape inspired by the superman character's cape.   My overall concept behind this piece was to depict the nature of dream through images. Because my thesis stated abstraction, I had combined a variety of photographs and pasted photo transferred them onto the fabric in a planned out yet messy composition. This included picture of my artwork, pictures that I took, as well as images from the internet. This series of pictures portray the colorfulness of dreams along with how vivid they are which is why people find it difficult to express them. The cape shows an arsenal of various elements of dreams, which is easier for audience to connect rather than speaking about it. The alternative story to this cape would be to have all these dreams on your cape and flying with it to achieve them coming back to superhero concept.
